I really like it when a novel written to challenge younger readers manages to hold up when it is read again as an adult. And this doesn&#39;t sound as if it will be one of them. (Note that these great books don&#39;t have to be super complex. A lot of early Lois Lowry and Beverly Cleary stand up to rereadings!) That the dialogue seems taken from a teen movie doesn&#39;t help, either. =P <br /><br />Now I&#39;m surprised to hear that this is a series.
