It's my Blogoversary!! **Signed** Gail Carriger Books Giveaway!

So, today is the today!
Pen to Paper is one year old!
I believe more celebrations (and a cake!) are in order, and this means, one final, incredible, giveaway. I have run two more giveaways, throughout the week, both of which can be found HERE. We've had a giveaway of a signed copy of Entice by Jessica Shirvinton, a signed copy of A Witch in Love by Ruth Warburton, and the books for this giveaway are also signed! (We wouldn't want to break the pattern now, would we?!)
So what's up for grabs, on Pen to Paper's first birthday?! Stick with me, and you'll find out!

Soulless (Parasol Protectorate #1)
by Gail Carriger
Pages: 320
Publisher: Orbit
Release: 2nd September 2010
Goodreads Page

Goodreads synopsis:
First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.

Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire - and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.

With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?

Timeless (Parasol Protectorate #5)
by Gail Carriger
Pages: 384
Publisher: Orbit
Release: 1st March 2012
Goodreads Page

Goodreads synopsis:

If you have not read the previous books in this series, do not read the following synopsis, as it does contain spoilers!

Alexia Tarabotti, Lady Maccon, has settled into domestic bliss. Of course, being Alexia, such bliss involves integrating werewolves into London High society, living in a vampire's second best closet, and coping with a precocious toddler who is prone to turning supernatural willy-nilly. Even Ivy Tunstell's acting troupe's latest play, disastrous to say the least, cannot put a damper on Alexia's enjoyment of her new London lifestyle. Until, that is, she receives a summons from Alexandria that cannot be ignored. With husband, child, and Tunstells in tow, Alexia boards a steamer to cross the Mediterranean. But Egypt may hold more mysteries than even the indomitable Lady Maccon can handle. What does the vampire Queen of the Alexandria Hive really want from her? Why is the God-Breaker Plague suddenly expanding? And how has Ivy Tunstell suddenly become the most popular actress in all the British Empire?

Gail and I, back in March
So, as I said at the top of the post, both of these books are signed by the author. I got them signed personally, when I went to meet her, with Jenny from Chocolate Chunky Munkie, back in March.
I read Soulless, earlier in the year, and I can safely say that it is one of the funniest books I have ever read! You can read my review HERE. (I also interviewed her, which is definitely worth a read! Click here to go to the post). I'm yet to read more in the series, but I definitely plan on reading the second one, before 2012 draws to a close!

Why do I have books 1 & 5 as a giveaway (a weird combination, surely?!), you might ask. Well, they are going to be given away separately. If you've not come across this series yet, then you can enter for book 1 (and book 5, if you wish, but if you win the latter, you're going to have to buy 4 other books - although, this probably won't put you off :P Just don't read the blurb!). However, if you are already familiar with the series, and have already read book one, then you can enter for the fifth and final book in the series.
Either way, I've got you covered ;)

Blogoversary Day 2: **SIGNED** A Witch in Love by Ruth Warburton Giveaway

So, as I explained in my first Blogoversary post, as a thank you to all of my wonderful followers - new and old - for everything that we have achieved over Pen to Paper's first year, I am running giveaways every other day, up until the day itself, September 1st - which is this Saturday!
We have already kick-started this marvellous event, with a giveaway of a signed copy of Entice by Jessica Shirvinton
Today there is another exciting signed book up for grabs - check it out!

A Witch in Love (Winter #2)
by Ruth Warburton
Pages: 416
Publisher: Hodder Children's Books
Release: 5th July 2012
Goodreads Page

Waterstones synopsis:

If you have not read A Witch in Winter, but intend to, do not read this synopsis, as it contains mild spoilers.

Anna still finds it hard to believe that Seth loves her and has vowed to suppress her powers, no matter what. But magic - like love - is uncontrollable and soon, Anna is being hunted. Abe wants Anna to embrace her power, while Seth is pushing Anna to accept that his feelings are real. She finally does ...a moment too late. Suddenly, it's like the Salem witch trials all over again: burnings, torture and faceless judgements. In the face of the ultimate betrayal, who will save her? The second novel in the Winter trilogy, this follows the critically acclaimed debut A WITCH IN WINTER.

Ruth and I together!
(She's on the right)
This giveaway is to win an ARC copy of the book (which still has the completed artwork on the front), that I got signed by the author in person.
Ruth is a really lovely lady, and was more than happy to sign the book for you guys. She hoped that whoever won the book, would enjoy reading it.
I absolutely loved the first book in the series, A Witch in Winter (you can read my review of it here), and I'm really excited to read this sequel, and find out what happens.
I will mention this now as well - if you do not win this giveaway, I will be holding another (although for an unsigned copy), alongside my review, which will hopefully be within the next month! So never fear!

Right! So we need to lay down the rules and guidelines again!

  • You must be a follower of Pen to Paper via Google Friend Connect to enter. This giveaway is a thank you to my followers, so why not become one of them?
  • The giveaway is international, and I will be posting the prize out personally. As the book is rather heavy, and the postage will undoubtedly be a lot, unfortunately, if the book gets lost in the post, I will not be able to replace it :(
  • There are optional extra entries for this giveaway. They are optional, but could be the difference between you winning, or someone else taking the prize.
  • I reserve the right to disqualify anyone who has not fulfilled the mandatory entry requirements, or anyone who has entered extra entries, but who has not fulfilled those tasks in their entirety.
  • I will email the winner when the giveaway is over, and they will have 48 hours to reply to my email, in order to claim their prize. If I have had no response within this time period, I'm afraid they will forfeit their prize, and I will have to draw another winner.
  • Please do not leave your email address anywhere on my blog. I use Rafflecopter to keep your details safe, so please take advantage of this.
  • The giveaway will end on September 30th 2012, at 23:59 EST.
The boring bit is over and done with now, so all you have left to do, is make sure you're a follower via GFC, and then get yourself entered in the Rafflecopter below!
Good luck :)
