Top Ten Tuesday #6

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. It was created because of a particular fondness towards lists. Each week, a new top ten question will be posted on the hosting blog for other blogs to join in with on their own blogs. All you need to do to join in is link back to the host somewhere on your post, and add your link to the linky list via the host.

This week's post is:

Top Ten unread books you own that you really want to read, but other books (or life) just keep getting in the way!

1.
Firmin is one that I've posted about before on one of my first 'The Time Will Come' posts. It was a Christmas present about 3 years ago, and I keep saying that I'm saving it for a rainy day, but that rainy day just hasn't come yet. I am hoping to get it read around Christmas this year! Hopefully!

2.
Graceling is one I bought a couple of years ago, when I was just finishing my A levels. I still really want to read it, but for some reason I just haven't ever gotten around to reading it! This is one of the books on my list for the 2012 TBR Reading Challenge, which I posted about yesterday, so will be reading this some time next year!

3.
Undead and Unwed was given to me by Jenny at Chocolate Chunky Munkie about a year and a half ago (or something like that), and it looks really, really good. We have really similar reading tastes, and I know Jen loved it, so I'm fairly sure I will as well, I just haven't picked it up yet. Will definitely be getting to this one soon! Maybe even at Christmas, when I've read Firmin!

4.
The Shadow of the Wind is another I bought a couple of years ago and just didn't ever get around to reading. It's a fairly chunky book, and now I have so many, I've recently been going for the smaller books to shift some from the HUGE to-read pile, but I do intend to get to this one some day!

5.
Visions of Heat is the second in the Psy-Changling series by Nalini Singh. I read Slave to Sensation about a year and a half ago and really enjoyed it. It was something new and unique - I've not seen anything quite like it before or since. I think what's stopping me from reading the second in the series though, is that there is no character continuation. I ended up really liking the characters in the first book, but they are different characters in each of the books. Will definitely read this eventually though. I think I have up until book 5 in the series or something... so I need to get cracking with them! This is another on my list for the 2012 TBR challenge.

6.
Her Fearful Symmetry is a book that I really liked the look of when I bought it, and I had intended to read it pretty much straight away, but for whatever reason, that didn't happen. I think it was just a case of there was always another book that I wanted to read more desperately. It was also at the time when I was reading pretty much nothing but paranormal romance, so that may have been a contributing factor. Will eventually read this one though - it looks amazing.

7.
Shiver was another that I was really looking forward to when I first got it, but I have so many that it was kind of ignored. It's another that I'm planning to read at Christmas/new year, so it will definitely be getting read very soon! It's one of the books in this list that I'm most excited about!

8.
The Help was recommended to me at the beginning of this year by a friend, who assured me that it was definitely a book I would really enjoy! And now, especially because the film is coming out soon, I need to read it (I have a policy where I won't knowingly watch the film before I've read the book - I have only on the occasions when I haven't known it was a book first). Perhaps another new year read!

9.
Book of Love was one of the first new books I found when I signed up to Goodreads in 2009, and I've wanted to read it ever since. I could only really have it on my wishlist before I got my Kindle, but when I did get my Kindle for my birthday at the beginning of this year, I found it as an eBook and managed to get it. It still hasn't been read though. I need to bump this up the to-read list when some more of my review copies have been read!

10.
Bitten is yet another that I've had for a couple of years that I've not managed to get around to yet. Like Visions of Heat and Graceling, though, it is on my list for the 2012 TBR Reading Challenge, so this will get read in 2012!! Fingers crossed anyway!

Shadow of the Wind is a good read - although I'm sure you've probably heard that already ;) Good luck getting through all your books. My pile is pretty daunting, too.

Her Fearful Symmetry is brilliant. You should read that sooner than later, AND it has slightly paranormal elements. You should enjoy it :o)

Quite a few in there I've read and enjoyed. Though beware, once you've read Bitten you'll want to carry on with the rest of the series!

Queen Betsy is really quick and easy to read though :)

Jessica, my friend Gemma keeps telling me I should read it - it's one of her favourites I think! (You can visit her blog - it's called Passion for Novels - the button is on the right side of my blog)
I know I'll enjoy it when I finally get to it!

And Ellie, I know - I think that's one of the reasons I haven't yet - I get suckered into series so easily! Haha :) I will read it next year though. Possibly at the beginning of the year :P
