Wishlist Wednesday #74

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.

So what do you need to do to join in?
  • Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
  • Please consider adding the blog hop button to your blog somewhere, so others can find it easily and join in too! Help spread the word! The code will be at the bottom of the post under the linky.
  • Pick a book from your wishlist that you are dying to get to put on your shelves.
  • Do a post telling your readers about the book and why it's on your wishlist.
  • Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of this post.
  • Put a link back to pen to paper (http://www.pentopaperblog.com) somewhere in your post, and a note saying that Pen to Paper is the host of the meme.
  • Visit the other blogs and enjoy!

Hourglass
by Myra McEntire

Goodreads synopsis:
One hour to rewrite the past . . .

For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn't there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents' death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She's tried everything, but the visions keep coming back.

So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson's willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may also change her past.

Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he's around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?
Okay, so technically I'm cheating on this week's choice, seeing it is soon to be on my to-read mountain, and no longer on my wishlist (I ordered myself a copy on Sunday). But I'm allowed to cheat, because I'm just so damn excited about getting hold of my copy! This has been on my wishlist, probably for around a year now, and I have just let it sit there. However, on Sunday, I was at a place called Warhammer World (for my brother's birthday, and the fact that I agreed to go is definite proof that I love him), and very bored, so of course, I was browsing Goodreads, and a review for this book came up. The review was a 5 star one. It took no more persuasion that this!
I'm very intrigued by this novel, and I can't wait to read it.

What's on your wishlist this week? Let us know in the comments below, or link to your own Wishlist Wednesday post in the Linky :)

I've seen this book mentioned a few times and I recall that amazing cover which really makes you look twice! It sounds really good so I definitely need to look this one up!

Plus, your allowed to cheat! It is your meme after all :P And I must admit I keep running out of books for this meme because I keep buying what is on my wishlist! But luckily I was able to come up with a new one!

I have heard a lot of great things about Hourglass. I have had it sitting in my reader for a long while. It was one of those that went on sale and I couldn't resist but have not gotten too.
I hope that you love it when you get to read it. Sounds like it will be soon!

I've heard so many great things about this book that it encouraged me to buy it too. But it has been next up on my to-read mountain for months and I can't believe I still haven't read it! It does look amazing though- hope we both get to read it soon!
