Musing Mondays #5

This meme is hosted by Should be Reading.

Every week a new 'musing' question is posted by the host for all participants to answer in their own posts.

This week's musing is:

What is your favourite romance book, or book that involves a love story?

Wow - this is a tough one! I have three different series in mind for this. The first one is fairly predictable, if you know me well, and that is Sookie's various romances in the Sookie Stackhouse (or True Blood series) by Charlaine Harris. This just happens to be my favourite series by my favourite author. I don't want to say too much about this because I wouldn't want to give anything away for those who are yet to discover the wonders of True Blood, but I will say that each of her love interests are unique from one another and equally as exciting (and keep an eye out for Quinn - I guarantee that you'll love him!)
The second romance I'd choose, I think, is Avry and Kerrick from Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder. I loved the romance between these two because it definitely struck me as real. There was nothing cheesy about it, and it didn't just happen straight away - it developed over the course of the novel, and was fully blossomed, ready for the second in the series (which I will be awaiting very impatiently).

The third romance I would choose would be Alexia and Lord Maccon in the Parasol Protectorate series. Even though I've only read the first book, this is enough. Their relationship is exciting, laugh-out-loud funny (as is the rest of the book) and dynamic. I can't wait to see how this relationship develops, as I continue with the rest of the series!

What are your favourite fictional romances? Let me know in the comments!

Have you read "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green yet? That's one of my favorite love stories at the moment, even though I have to say that I don't have one fixed favorite love stoy. My opinion on that changes a lot depending on my current readings and my current life situation.

I have it to read (a signed copy, which is exciting!) but I've not read it yet. I will be soon though.
I know what you mean - I don't tend to have fixed favourites, but I think it helps that these that I've mentioned are some of my favourite books anyway, so they're going to stand out.

I love a bit of romance in most things I read though, so I could have gone on all day!

The Southern vampire mysteries are the best, hands down.
