Confessions of an Angry Girl **Blog Tour**

I am very excited about today's blog post! Pen to Paper was lucky enough to have been chosen by Mira Ink, to take part in the blog tour for Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozett, a book that I can't wait to get stuck into - it's one of my most anticipated reads of 2013!
The tour is already half way through, and today we have a short Q&A with Louise, and the book trailer, which I hope you will enjoy, and will make you even more excited about the book!
But first of all, how about a quick synopsis?

Rose Zarelli, self-proclaimed word geek and angry girl, has some CONFESSIONS to make...
#1: I’m livid all the time. Why? My dad died. My mom barely talks. My brother abandoned us. I think I’m allowed to be irate, don’t you?
#2: I make people furious regularly. Want an example? I kissed gorgeous Jamie Forta, boyfriend of the coolest cheerleader in the school. Now she’s out for blood. Mine.
#3: But most of all high school might as well be Mars. My best friend has been replaced by an alien…and now it’s a case of survival of the coolest.

If you had to confess to anything, what would it be?
I will confess that I have a very weird and embarrassing writing ritual. Before I start writing, I watch an episode of the American soap opera General Hospital on my computer. I’m not sure if watching soap operas is considered nerdy in the U.K., but it definitely is here! I have been watching General Hospital on and off for, oh, about 35 years now, and for the last 5 years, I’ve been watching it online. It makes me feel less guilty somehow to watch it on my computer because I can answer emails and do other things online while it’s playing in the background. But those characters are really close friends at this point—I know pretty much everything there is to know about them–and they help me leave the world of dog care/bill paying/financial worries/generalized anxiety, and transition into what I like to think of as my super-cool writer self.

In Confessions of An Angry Girl, Rose gets mad very easily, what makes you mad?
Well, I’m not proud of this, but I get weirdly angry when someone embarrasses me. I hate feeling like a fool, or feeling like I’ve been taken down somehow. I think Rose is the same way, which probably isn’t a surprise. On a larger scale, I get angry about injustice, about the way women are still treated as “less than” in various ways around the world, about cultures that don’t believe in educating women, about societies that treat women as property. Actually, I think Rose would probably get angry about these things, too!

Who is your favourite character in Confessions of An Angry Girl?
I love this question. My favorite character...is Angelo! I can’t help it. I just love him. He and his love of music make me (and Rose) really happy. I think a lot of readers like Angelo, too—they’ve written me to express concern about whether he’s going to be in the next book or not. And that is the ultimate compliment!

Louise Rozett is an author, a playwright, and a recovering performer. She is making her YA debut with Confessions of an Angry Girl, published by Harlequin Teen. General Hospital is my soap too! I haven't watched it in a while but I was obsessed from about 2001 to 2005 (big Carly/Sonny fan).

Really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the sequel.
